The Trust Specialist is responsible for protecting our customer’s funds, while ensuring timely and accurate payments to their employees. This is achieved through a variety of reconciliations, file creation/transmissions, follow-up of exception items such as unfunded and warehoused payrolls, and managing daily cheque clearing - all within the deadlines set out by the Canadian banking system.

Additionally, this role acts as a key point of contact and subject matter expert when it comes to Treasury and Payment related inquiries.

  • Reconcile Trust bank accounts, including processing exception items such as invalid cheque clearing, EFT rejects, etc.
  • Process incoming payments from customers, releasing funded payrolls.
  • Review of overdue accounts, including any follow up action.
  • File transmissions and confirmation of receipt – EFTs, remittances, and Bank of Canada (CPS).
  • Provide forecasted closing bank balances to our financial institutions, within a predefined tolerance.
  • Manage a weekly file exchange with the CRA for customer remittance frequencies.
  • Maintain internal spreadsheets and reports.
  • Daily bank deposits.

  • Degree or Diploma in Business Administration.
  • Banking experience is an asset.
  • Bilingual (French and English) both written and verbal is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, trouble-shooting and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage a variety priorities.
